Taxco is renowned in Mexico for its silver. As a result there is a great lineage of artisans creating jewelry and other silver crafts. The Castillo brothers are among them during the mid twentieth century. They mastered the very difficult skill of forging several different metals together, creating distinctive, collectible objects.
